Morning Boxing Classes

morning boxing classes

Boxing, known by many as the ‘sweet science’, is the most popular combat sport in the western hemisphere. Whether you want a more dynamic workout than a traditional gym or hope to improve your ability to defend yourself. Our morning boxing classes are likely to be an ideal fit for your needs.

  • 1 Who is it for

Let’s be honest, morning classes aren’t for everyone. However, if you are an early riser, our morning boxing classes can be an excellent addition to your weekly routine. Before your workday even begins, you’ll have accomplished multiple things before most people have even had their breakfast. You will fill yourself with a sense of achievement as a result. Of course, you will also pump your body with positive hormones such as endorphins. You’ll be ready to take on any challenge that comes your way!

Our morning sessions are also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people. You’ll not only meet people that have an interest in boxing, but also meet people who have the determination to get up early to train like you do.

Not a lot of people enjoy waking up for early boxing sessions. That said, you’re unsurprisingly more likely to get focused attention from the trainers. As a result, you’ll have a better opportunity to progress faster than those training in large classes.

If that’s not enough to convince you, here’s an interesting fact. Did you know some of the most successful people on the planet get up at least two hours before their workday begins? They do this to exercise and and enjoy the boost of endorphins and/or relax with some meditation.

  • 2 Do you have showers

Of course, we have showers! You’ll find training with us very convenient. In fact, some of our morning class students go to work directly after training. Others simply don’t want to have to wait to clean up at home. It is our intention to make training as enjoyable and convenient for you, therefore, all necessary facilities are provided.

  • 3 Whats the timetable

We want you too be able to pick the schedule most convenient for you, so we run multiple morning boxing classes throughout the week. Each session lasts for roughly 45 minutes. We suggest you arrive early and are prepared to begin the class 10 minutes before we start.

To see all of our Boxing, Muay Thai and BJJ classes, head over to our timetable.

  • 4 What skill level do I need

Our sessions are welcome to students of all skill levels. The last thing we would want you to feel is that you aren’t welcome. We make sure that each and every one of our students is under just the right amount of pressure for them, to get the most from their workout. If you’re concerned about keeping up with the class, we suggest working on improving your cardiovascular health. Improving your cardio will allow you to keep up with practice as a result. Moreover, not being busy catching your breath also puts you in a better position to absorb what is being instructed in the lessons.

As for martial arts background… Sure, it can be helpful to have some combat training experience from other disciplines. However, it can also be somewhat of a hindrance. This is because different disciplines may have different ways of approaching a combat situation. For example, the stance difference between a Muay Thai fighter and a traditional western boxer is very different. Muscle memory may be an impediment in this case.

Regardless, if you come to our morning boxing classes with an open mind and the willingness to see the discipline with ‘new eyes’, you’ll be giving yourself the best chance to get the most from our sessions.

  • 5 How to get started

The easiest way to get a feel for it, is by trying it. Come drop-in to one of our morning boxing classes to get a real sense of the benefits you can gain from joining us. Needless to say, there is an incredible amount of benefits you will gain from training with us. We’re sure that you’ll feel at home and become part of the family in no time. If you’re trying out our morning boxing classes for the first time, you don’t have to worry about gear either. We’ll provide those for you.

We suggest that you first consult your doctor before taking part in a session if you have any health concerns. This is to ensure that the experience is one that does you more good than harm!

If you’re battling with the thought of coming to a morning session because it will be early, try and ask your friend to be an accountability partner. Telling an accountability partner what we aim to do has been shown to increase the likeliness of us completing a given task.

  • 6 What to wear

In terms of attire, your usual gym wear will be sufficient for our morning boxing classes.

We recommend having your own combat specific items such as mouthguard (gum shield), hand wraps and boxing gloves. Mouthguards are essential when sparring. Additionally, they can also be an excellent aid to increase the intensity of a workout. To keep your hands and wrists safe you need more than just padded gloves, this is where the hand wraps come in. When applied properly (this is taught in our classes), your hands and wrists will be well-protected for the necessary impact that takes place during our sessions. Wearing boxing gloves is just as much for your safety as it is for your training partners. A good pair of gloves will last you a considerable amount of time. We suggest purchasing a pair from a reputable brand to ensure quality and longevity.

The necessary items are available at our shop in the training centre.

  • 7 Where are the boxing classes located

All of our boxing classes take place at our training centre in Logan, Greater Brisbane. If you live in or around our location, training with us will be a decision that you won’t regret. We’re honoured to provide high-quality combat sports instruction in the local area.
