  • 4 Non contact

Although there are many benefits to sparring (a simulated fight scenario), we understand the concern of some parents. After all, the risk of semi-contact/full-contact combat is not always ideal. That is why we do our best to kept contact to a bare minimum. It is only enough for our students to be aware of how to defend themselves with the techniques taught. Therefore, our trainers closely supervise any potential head contact. We always closely monitor children that attend kids’ karate classes or kids’ boxing classes during sparring practice.

People come to martial arts for a multitude of reasons. Rest assured when your child trains with us, they will feel at home when and we will cater to their needs.

  • 5 Skills for life

Needless to say, there are many benefits when kids learn martial arts at a reputable gym. For example, kids that regularly attend boxing classes learn how to properly throw a solid punch. Also, kids that attend karate classes will learn to be effective with their kicks. More importantly, the critical thinking skills they develop will teach them when it is appropriate to use their skills.

  • 6 The ability to defend

There are many reasons why students walk through our doors. One of the most common reasons is to learn a skill that will protect themselves if the need ever arises. You can never be sure when you’ll need to defend yourself. With a background in martial arts, your child will stand a better chance in to defend themselves. They will have the tools to make calculated decisions that can keep themselves and their friends/family safe.

  • 7 Cardiovascular

The practise of martial arts is taxing on the cardiovascular system, therefore, as your child continues to train they will notice their endurance in other sports also increases. There are many studies freely available that link the improvement of cardiovascular health to overall health benefits (both physiological and psychological). Many find martial arts training the most enjoyable and practical way to get fit!

If your child is new to exercise, we suggest starting slowly. This is to avoid injury and also potentially overload them to the point where they lose interest. Slow and steady wins the race. We’re sure that once they find the martial art that suits them, they’ll be hooked. We suggest letting students try kids karate classes and kids boxing classes to see what suits them best.

  • 8 Diet

Martial arts naturally direct us towards a more mindful approach to life. As your child becomes more aware, they’ll likely begin noticing that certain types of food and drink benefit their training better than others. This realisation is a great opportunity for growth. They are likely to begin selecting foods that are both tasty and optimal for their body and mind to develop. You’ll be able to see these benefits in the training centre, the classroom and at home.

  • 9 Mindset

Martial arts attract a wide variety of people, but no matter who you are, it will make you more grounded. This comes from watching yourself develop as the techniques become more and more natural. We also find that students at our Logan kids martial arts classes become more relaxed as their skills develop. This is due to their risk management increasing, allowing them to know when to ‘switch on’ (if necessary).
