3 Learning the fundamentals
Grasping the basics is essential to allow for your child to remain calm and protect themselves adequately if they ever feel the need to. Taking part in combat training such as kids karate classes or kids boxing classes systematically develops well-rounded martial artists that can confidently make the right decisions when in adverse situations, whether that be to fight or flee.
Our teaching staff that run Logan kids martial arts classes are seasoned martial artists. They have utilized their knowledge of the fundamentals to not only walk through life with humble confidence but also win regional, national and international competitions.
4 Non contact
Although there are invaluable benefits to sparring (a simulated fight scenario), we do understand that there are some parents that are concerned about the risk involved regarding semi-contact/full contact combat. We do our best to ensure that contact is kept to a bare minimum, only enough for our students to be aware of how to defend themselves with the techniques taught. Any potential head contact is very closely monitored by supervisors. Children that attend kids karate classes or kids boxing classes, will always be closely monitored during sparring practice.
People come to martial arts for a multitude of reasons. Rest assured your child will feel at home when training with us and their needs will be well-catered to.
5 Skills for life
There are multiple benefits when it comes to learning a martial art at a reputable establishment. Being involved in kids boxing classes has a whole lot of benefits outside of being able to throw a solid punch and the same can be said for kids karate classes with their kicks.
6 The ability to defend
One of the most common reasons that students walk through our doors is so they can learn a skill that will allow them to protect themselves if the need ever arises. You can never be sure when you’ll need to defend yourself. With a background in martial arts, your child will have the tools to make calculated decisions that keep themselves and their friends/family safe.
The practise of martial arts is taxing on the cardiovascular system, therefore, as your child continues to train they will notice their endurance in other sports also increases. There are many studies freely available that link the improvement of cardiovascular health to overall health benefits (both physiological and psychological). Many find martial arts training the most enjoyable and practical way to get fit!
If your child is new to exercise, we suggest starting slowly. This is to avoid injury and also potentially overload them to the point where they lose interest. Slow and steady wins the race. We’re sure that once they find the martial art that suits them, they’ll be hooked. We suggest letting students try kids karate classes and kids boxing classes to see what suits them best.
Martial arts naturally direct us towards a more mindful approach to life. As your child becomes more aware, they’ll likely begin noticing that certain types of food and drink benefit their training better than others. This realization is a great opportunity for growth. They are likely to begin selecting foods that are both tasty and optimal for their body and mind to develop. These benefits can be seen both in the training centre, the classroom and at home.
Martial arts attract a wide-variety of personalities, but no matter who you are, it will make you more grounded. This fundamentally comes from watching yourself develop as the techniques become more and more natural. We also find that students at our Logan kids martial arts classes become more relaxed as their skills develop, this is due to their risk management becoming fine-tuned, allowing them to know when to ‘switch on’ (if necessary).
10 Confidence in other areas
Learning any martial art also improves overall confidence. This allows for character development to flourish. Lastly, it is an ideal opportunity to improve social skills in a warm and welcoming environment. Many of our students see our training centre as a second home.
