3 Other classes
Although the BJJ instruction offered at TFC is one of the best in Brisbane, we also offer training in other disciplines. If you’re looking to complement your development in BJJ with a striking martial art, we offer two for you to choose from. Both boxing and muay thai kickboxing are offered at TFC. It doesn’t matter whether you’re simply looking to lose a few pounds or beginning your journey into competition, we are able to adapt to your needs.
One of the most common questions we get asked regarding boxing or muay thai is “Do we need to fight to join your classes?”, the simple answer is no. Although it may sound rather paradoxical, you don’t need to get struck to learn how to strike. In fact, you can get to a very high proficiency within a martial art technique without ever being struck once. We definitely would not recommend this for someone interested in competing, but for those who are looking to get into incredible shape while having a lot of fun and learning how to defend yourself, we have your covered.
Our friendly, family-like approach to training has allowed for students to get introduced to new martial arts that they initially many not have been aware of. In some cases this has lead to them finding their ‘true’ martial art discipline.
Although BJJ is a wonderful martial art, it doesn’t provide the practitioner with any striking instruction. Some BJJ purists will argue that it is not important to know how to strike if you are proficient in BJJ. We disagree. At TFC we offer you the opportunity to become a well-rounded martial artist, allowing you to feel confident on your feet and on the ground if the fight goes there.
